Y

Explain:

None

What went well?:

The net operations and participation was at a very professional level. Simplex communications was used between sites because at least three stations could not access a repeater. A central net control station (KA0ULN) was located in the area of Rampart Range Road and Hwy. 67. KA9ODE served as event coordinator from his home location is Castle Rock and was able to communication to all but one station via simplex. The stations were extremely helpful in passing information between DCSAR and various checkpoints. KA0ULN, net control served as a liaison to DCSAR.

Areas needing improvement:

None.

Lessons Learned:

Several queries about the race could only be answered by race officials. Race officials were not provided a means of communication to DCSAR, D24 ARES, or volunteers manning checkpoints. Future public service events should be coordinated with event officials. We were brought in to support to DCSAR. Perhaps D24 ARES should serve both DCSAR and race officials.

Additional Training needed:

None.

Ideas for future exercises:
