Description of Activity:

Skywarn/ARES members watched various bridges in Delta County Colorado at the request of the County Emergency Manager. For 6 nights particpants watched for trash dams, other obstructions and water levels.

List the goals of the activity:

Watch bridges on less traveled roads and lanes during high water hours. Report water level and presence of trash dams to the County Emergency Manager via net/Skywarn Coordiantor.

Explain:

Participants observed all the designated bridges during the six days/nights of concern.

What went well?:

Nets functioned smoothly. Procedures praticed on the weekly nets were followed.

Areas needing improvement:

Improvement of the communication between the NCS/Skywarn Coordinator and Delta County Dispatch.

Lessons Learned:

The need to imform demonstrate D25 ARES capabilities to the Sheriff.

Additional Training needed:

Continue practicing net procedures on the weekly nets.
